FORUM "ECOBALTICA-2011"
Russian Academy of Sciences, The City Administration of St.-Petersburg, and Kalmar Municipality (Sweden), St.-Petersburg State Polytechnic University, University of Kalmar (Sweden) plan to hold from 29 Sept. till 01 Oct. 2011 VIII-th International Youth Environmental Forum of Baltic Region Countries "ECOBALTICA''2011".
Saint Petersburg Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the City Government of St.-Petersburg, Kalmar Municipality (Sweden), St.-Petersburg State Polytechnic University, and Linnaeus University (Sweden) plan to hold from 29th September to 01st October, 2011, The 8th International Youth Science Environmental Forum of Baltic Region Countries "ECOBALTICA'' 2011".
Scientific Sessions within the Frame of "ECOBALTICA" Forum:
1. Fundamental and applied research on pollution processes in different environmental matrices;
2. Waste water purification technologies, effluent gases and solid waste handling;
3. Methods for environmental quality management. Mathematical modeling and geo-informational technologies as tools for ecological assessment and forecasting of environmental quality;
4. Land restoration and rehabilitation of impacted ecosystems;
5. Economical, legal and political aspects of nature management and nature protective activity.
6. Bioenergetics and energy of secondary sources;
7. Methods of ecological risk evaluation;
8. Emergency situations and accidents due to anthropogenic causes, their forecasting and prevention;
9. Social - Ecological and Economic bases of competition and mutual cooperation among Baltic Region countries.
Round Tables:
- Cooperation development of educational, scientific and industrial organizations in the Baltic Region in the area of waste water treatment technologies for the wood industry.
- The role of nature science courses in educational process for environmental safety specialization students in Baltic See Region.
- Baltic See region environmental sciences international research and innovation cooperation - possibility for youth.
We are glad to invite students, post-graduate students and young scientists (up to 40 years old), scientific advisors, representatives of universities, scientific and industrial centers, enterprises and firms, representatives of social organizations, as well as all person concerned.

The International Youth Environmental Forum "ECOBALTICA" is directed to increase scientific level of young specialists-ecologists, to form ecological sense and establish close partner relations between institutes of higher education, research institutes, industrial companies and administrative bodies in Baltic Region. Scientific program of conferences will be realized at the plenary sittings and sessions, as well as with use of poster presentations.
Language
The working languages of the Forum are English and Russian.
Materials
Abstracts shall be sent by e-mail (ecobaltica@narod.ru) in English and should not exceed 100 words, plus title of paper (by heading letters), names of authors and affiliation with official addresses. The files should be in RTF format. In the topic (subject) of the electronic letter it is obligatory to inform "surname, first name, name of the session the paper shall be presented, Forum "ECOBALTICA"".
IMPORTANT DATES:
10 June 2011 - Deadline for abstract submission;
25 June 2011 - Report about abstract’s acceptance;
20 July 2011 - Deadline to send the full papers;
29 Sept. 2011 - Opening Ceremony of the Forum.
Companies and industries from Baltic Region countries are invited to support the participation of young researchers in the Forum, and to take part in the exhibition of technologies related to environmental protection. The exhibition will be held in connection with the Forum "ECOBALTICA".

Materials
Abstracts have to be sent by E-MAIL (both address: ecobaltica@narod.ru, ecobaltica@mail.ru)
in English (for review facilities) and should not exceed 100 words except for title of paper (by heading letters), names of authors and place of their work or study with official address. The files should be in RTF format. In the topic (subject) of electronic letter there have to be obligatory pointed "surname, first name, name of conference, Forum "ECOBALTICA"".
The firms and enterprises of Baltic Region countries are invited to support participation of young researchers in the Forum, taking part in the exhibition of devices, production, facilities and presentations of technologies connected with environmental protection, which are to be held within the limits of Forum "ECOBALTICA".
The International Youth Environmental Forum "ECOBALTICA" has already 15 years of existence, being the initiators, the young specialists of Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnic University. The Forum was held in 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008 years. “ECOBALTICA” has contributed significantly to the establishment of productive contacts in the Baltic Sea Region, has increased of professional level of young researchers and students, and has helped the development of new joint research projects and business-contacts. In the work of "ECOBALTICA" traditionally take part not only young specialists, but well known scientists, representatives of enterprises and firms, and administrative bodies of Baltic Region countries. Such unique composition of participants has increased the scientific level of the discussions focused on practical aspects.
